1st gen Tacoma framerail boxing template

Submitted by Jesse_at_TLT on January 31st, 2011

These templates are intended to be used to cut plates to box-in the framerails on a 1st gen Tacoma from behind the cab (where the transition from being fully boxed to open C-channel) all that way back to the rear bumper.

I created these templates by disassembling the back half of a ‘99 Tacoma and making cardboard templates of the inside of the framerails (inner C). I then scanned those templates, imported those templates into Illustrator and turned the hand-drawn templates into vector-based files, then imported those files into SolidWorks and generated CAD files that I’ve uploaded here. These templates have been used to cut parts, and work great, but were designed to fit ONE truck. Have not fit them to other trucks, and would not be surprised to learn there are small variations in fit – especially on older trucks that have been modified, driven hard, crashed, etc.
