1st Gen 4Runner high-clearance rear bumper
Submitted by Jesse_at_TLT on September 9th, 2007
I designed this high-clearance rear bumper for our ‘89 4Runner. The first file includes the dimensions for the single piece of tube we used. The second file is just the sheetmetal brackets, which should be useful to anyone building their own rear bumper for a 1st gen 4Runner. This bumper is a weld-on design and effectively extends the rear framerails to the mounting point for the rear bumper. After welding these brackets to the sides of the framerails, they should be boxed-in by adding flat plate (top and bottom) between the two brackets.
