Wilwood Disk Brakes Adapted to Dana 60 Front Axle
Published by Trails Less Traveled on April 9th, 2004
Currie Enterprises machined the Ford reverse rotation Dana 60 unit bearing hubs to a 5 on 5.5" lug pattern for us when the axle was prepared at their Anaheim facility. We decided to use the stock 5 on 5.5" lug pattern in order to run 15" rims, and the 5.5" bolt circle diameter also allowed us room to adapt Wilwoods 12" rotors and billet Dynalite calipers from a Ford 9" pro street kit. It is actually cheaper to buy an entire kit and discard the caliper mounts than it is to purchase any of the components separately.
In order to use the Wilwood calipers with the Dana 60 knuckles, we designed adapters to bridge the gap between the Dana 60 caliper mounts and the Wilwood calipers. These were CNC machined and then sent out for anodizing. The fit and performance of the installed brakes is exceptional.
